Hello Everyone,
Last week your child participated in two special assemblies hosted by Mrs. MacAulay as well as our regularly scheduled subjects. She read a story and made many connections to how important everyone's social emotional well being is and how it relates to learning. She also presented a refresher on using your WITS when dealing with a conflict or a difference of opinions. Ask your child to explain the green, blue, yellow and red zones of regulation to you.

In Math, our focus is skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s forward and backward starting at different entry points. Take a look below to see us practising. Ask your child what the 2 math tools we used to help us with the counting.

We have moved on to non-fiction writing. Our class looked at many features. We COMPARED many features to notice the similarities and the differences between many of them.
Then, the students went on a hunt to look for examples. Ask your child what is the difference between an index and a glossary.

We are wrapping up our lessons about volleyball. Ask your child to explain what move this student is doing. Is it a volley, a bump or a serve?

A FEW THINGS TO REMEMBER........
  • We are in need of The Citizen newspapers for a Science experiment. Can you please send any that you have in with your child ASAP.
  • If possible, please label or mark your child's winter clothing items especially if they look generic (black gloves)
  • Cake Walk is this coming Friday November 29th. The note and tickets were sent home last week for purchase. Tickets and money (8 tickets/$2) will be collected up until the day of the event.
  • Please look in your child's homework book to sign some corrected math assessments which will be used as part of your child's mark for that unit.
Have a great week. I know we will.
